ELK Guarantee Terms and Conditions
Easylife Kitchens (ELK) Guarantee Terms and Conditions
By engaging the services of Easylife Kitchens (ELK), the client agrees to the following Guarantee Terms and Conditions. These terms are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and compliance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
The full Terms and Conditions apply when the ELK client signs the initial quote and agreement. The below represents a shortened version, specifically focused on the ELK Guarantee and Warranty.
1. General Guarantee
1.1 All materials and components manufactured and supplied directly by ELK are of first-grade quality and are guaranteed against defects for a period of two (2) years from the date installation commences.
1.2 Blum components:
- Hinges, runners, and Metabox drawer systems carry a 20-year lifetime guarantee.
- Servodrive systems carry a 5-year guarantee.
2. Exclusions from the ELK Guarantee
2.1 Damage caused by water, misuse, or neglect of units.
2.2 Overloading of units – clients must ensure shelves, drawer runners, and supports are used within their designed weight capacities.
2.3 Goods exported by or on behalf of the client.
2.4 Blum guarantees on hinges, runners, etc. exclude damage caused by granite/stone dust or building dust from grinding.
2.5 Materials and components supplied to ELK by third-party suppliers are excluded from the ELK warranty, as these are covered under the respective supplier warranties.
2.6 Appliances and small appliances – warranties are carried by the manufacturer or supplier. ELK acts only as a reseller and does not provide additional warranty. Clients are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the relevant manufacturer warranties.
2.7 Contractor services – ELK does not recommend or guarantee the work of contractors (e.g., electrical, plumbing, turnkey services). Should a client independently appoint such service providers, even where a name was referred by ELK, ELK will not be liable for their workmanship or guarantee their work.
2.8 Upgrades or alterations to existing installations, particularly those not originally installed by ELK, are not guaranteed at all.
2.9 Non-payment – all warranties and guarantees will be void if the client fails to make final payment due to ELK for the project.
3. Client Responsibilities
3.1 Clients must follow proper care and maintenance procedures for their kitchens and installations to ensure that warranties remain valid.
3.2 Clients are referred to the ELK website for guidance on “How to Care for Your Kitchen”, as well as to relevant supplier websites and manuals for product-specific care instructions, guarantees, and warranty details.
